Question 1

Does tax_id_valid confirm registration with AEAT or VIES?

Accepted Answer

No. It confirms the implemented Spanish corporate NIF structure and control character, with a contextual company-name match in public website text. This is not an AEAT, VIES or business-registry lookup and does not prove current tax registration or domain ownership. Personal DNI/NIE identifiers are excluded.

Question 2

What happens when a website has no clear company identity?

Accepted Answer

The API returns a structured error and null identity fields instead of guessing: 404 for no usable match, 409 for ambiguous evidence and 422 for an invalid tax ID. Completed negative or ambiguous lookups consume one paid query. Server and gateway failures follow the marketplace billing policy. Only static public HTML is checked; JavaScript-rendered pages, PDFs and images are not supported. The extraction budget is five seconds, excluding gateway and network overhead.

Question 3

Can an AI agent enrich a company website with its Spanish CIF/NIF?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Connect an HTTP-compatible MCP client to https://mcp.jojapi.com/spanish-company-tax-data with Authorization: Bearer YOUR_JOJ_API_KEY as a connection header and choose the listing plan. Supply the company website URL to the extraction tool, check success, and retain found_at as source evidence. Missing or ambiguous identities require review. The result checks published website evidence and the corporate NIF control character; it is not an official tax-register verification. MCP calls follow the same billing rules as HTTP calls.
